Costume Designer

Synopsis

Fantastic follows Earl, a struggling voice actor who dreams of writing his own screenplay while navigating work, relationships and the unpredictability of everyday life. As his ambitions begin to take shape, he is forced to confront the challenges of pursuing a creative career without losing himself in the process.

Costume Designer

Responsible for the design, preparation and on-set execution of costumes throughout principal photography. Working closely with the director, I translated character development into a cohesive wardrobe while ensuring visual continuity across a non-linear shooting schedule.

Key responsibilities included:

• Developing the costume concept for each principal character through script analysis, research and visual mood boards.
• Sourcing, styling and preparing costumes, including fittings, alterations, garment care and daily wardrobe organisation.
• Producing detailed costume breakdowns, continuity documentation and scene-by-scene wardrobe schedules.
• Dressing actors and overseeing all costume changes throughout filming.
• Maintaining continuity across multiple takes, camera setups and scenes filmed out of sequence.
• Monitoring costumes on set and making precise adjustments before each take to ensure consistency on camera.
• Carrying out garment steaming, pressing, hand sewing and emergency repairs during production.
• Preparing and resetting costumes between scenes, ensuring all garments remained camera-ready throughout the shoot.
• Collaborating closely with the Director, Assistant Directors, Hair & Make-up, Camera and Script Supervisor to support the creative vision and production schedule.
• Managing wardrobe logistics, costume rails and daily costume preparation to ensure an efficient workflow on set.

The role combined creative costume design with the practical responsibilities of key costuming, continuity supervision and on-set wardrobe management, requiring adaptability, attention to detail and efficient problem-solving throughout production.
